

Born in Bayonne, she resided in Spotswood and Brick before settling in Whiting 14 years ago.
Prior to retiring, she was a Lab Technician for E. R. Squibb & Son in North Brunswick, where she worked for 24 years.
Veronica belonged to the Spotswood American Legion and was a parishioner of St. Dominic’s RC Church in Brick. She was also a member of the Bristol Meyers Squibb retiree’s club. She was very involved with her family and acted as a Girl Scout leader, a PTA president, singer in the church choir, and also loved animals.
She was predeceased by her first husband George Peter Sweeney in 1973.
Surviving is her husband Vito LaSala; 2 daughters: Mary Catherine Sweeney (John Whalen) and Colleen (Thomas) Gahrmann; 2 granddaughters: Mara & Mia Gahrmann; 3 step-children: Vito LaSala, Jr., Nicoletta LaSala, and Veronica McLellan; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and cousins. She was the best mom ever, a fun Nan, and a great wife.
