Doris Nell Bennett

Doris Nell Bennett's journey of life on this earth was completed on October 22, 2012. She was born on November 11, 1939 in Granger, Texas to Leslie and Lillie Caldwell. Her father and mother moved the family to Texas City in 1941. She attended Lincoln High School where she met and married Chester Bennett Jr. They added seven children to their union. Doris was added to the body of Christ in 1980, she is a member of Westward Street Church of Christ where she attended whenever her health allowed her. Doris was a loving mother, cherished mother-in-law, grandmother and sister. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie Caldwell and Lillie Lee and sister, Jean Benjamin. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her seven children, Donald G. Bennett, Sr. (Cynthia) of California, Chester Bennett, III (Debra) of League City, Cheryl D. Jones (Henry) of Houston, Clifton Glenn Bennett, Sr. (Cassandra) of Houston, Yvonne R. Terrell (Claude) of Texas City, Donna M. Bennett of La Marque and Doris Drisdale (John) of Hitchcock; 21 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, her siblings, Barbara Matthews (Paul J.), Clarence Caldwell and Massie Jackson; a faithful brother-in-law, Donald L. Bennett; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
