Evelyn Williams-Woods

Sister Evelyn Williams Woods was born on May 17, 1926 in Brazoria County, Texas to Hilliary Williams and Laura Elizabeth Walker Williams. She was the 10th of eleven children born to this union. Evelyn accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church in League City. She was united in matrimony to Oscar William Woods Jr. on November 28, 1946. To this union, seven children were born. Throughout her life, she was fiercely devoted to her family, faithfully involved in her church, and actively served her community. Evelyn departed this earthly life on May 17, 2013 at the Heart Tower of Clear Lake Regional Medical Center in Webster, Texas, when the Lord took her by the hand and said, "Come unto me and rest." She leaves cherished memories to: her children, Sharon Venita Woods Marshall (Sherman), Kenneth William Woods, Sr. (Brenda), Carl Langston Woods, Sr. (Glenda, deceased), Tadarell Lee Woods I (Hyacinth), Marsha Annette Woods, Oscar William Woods, III and Yolanda Lynn Woods; her sister, Rosie Lee Williams; her sister-in-law, Richie Jean Williams (Thoursdon, deceased); her brother-in-law, Sam Woods and sister-in-law, Lillie Woods; 13 grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. Preceding her in death are her husband of 63 years, Oscar William Woods, Jr.; her parents, Hilliary and Laura Williams; her parents-in-law, Oscar Sr.and Ethel Woods; her sister, Claudia Mae Williams; her brothers, Earl Williams, Hearl Williams (Eloise), Vandervelt Williams, Sr., (Norena), George Williams, Sr., (Angie Lee), Ester Williams, (Edna), Lloyd Williams, Thoursdon Williams and Robert Lee Williams; her great-granddaughter, Charmaine Woods; three brothers-in-law, and seven sisters-in-law.
