Kay was born, January 31, 1951 to William and Irene (Kovach) Harsanyi, in Beckley, West Virginia. She shared her childhood with her brothers, Bill, Gary and Jeff.
Kay retired early and enjoyed theatrical acting and vacationing. Her favorite vacation destination was Honolulu, Hawaii. This was her paradise and she always felt a strong connection to the island and sea; therefore, we will honor her wishes and bring her back to the place that she loved so much.
She was a strong woman who was highly admired by her family and to whom the family turned for advice and help. She was modest and humble, never judgmental and always forgiving. Kay was known to feed the stray animals in the neighborhood and was always willing to rescue a dog (or two).
Kay is remembered with love by her beloved son Richard and wife Noelle; two step-granddaughters, Autumn and Ayshia; one step-great-grandson, Brennen; two brothers, Gary Harsanyi and wife Bonnie; Jeff Harsanyi and wife Martina; former spouse Larry Lunn, faithful dog “Puppy”; and devoted friends and neighbors.
Family and friends are welcome to leave their memories and/or condolences on this memorial page. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made in Kay’s honor to be used for her favorite cause.
She was loved by everyone and will be forever missed by her family and friends. Although she seemed indestructible- God needed her.
WEARY
God saw you getting weary.
He did what he thought was best.
He put his arms around you
and said, “Come and rest.”
He opened up His golden gates
on that heartbreaking day,
and with His arms around you,
You gently slipped away.
It broke our hearts to lose you.
You did not go alone.
A part of us went with you,
the day God called you home.
