Lawrence Lee Dixon Jr. was born January 26, 1933 in Natchitoches, Louisiana to the late Lawrence Dixon Sr. and the late Ada Fisher. In his early childhood he was educated in the Natchitoches Parish School System. He attended St. Luke Baptist Church. Lawrence was a carpenter by trade and the “best mechanic” in the land!! Upon retirement, Lawrence “loved” working at Rainbow Park (City of Texas City). Anyone having car trouble, a pull out of the ditch, or just a helping hand, knew they could call Lawrence. Most of the time if asked “How much do I owe?” he would just say, “Awe, don’t worry about it!” He will be sadly missed. Lawrence passed from this earthly life April 18, 2016 in Texas City, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and one sister, Reed Dixon, John L. Dixon and Ernie B. Springs. Lawrence is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Alma J. Dixon; his children, Sonya Guillory, Vanessa Dixon, Tammy Barron and Kevin Dixon; 7 siblings, brothers, Roy Dixon, Jessie Dixon (Juanita), Clarence Dixon (Eldora), Donnie Ray Dixon (Cheryl) and George Dixon (Marie); sisters, Ethel Pearl Washington and Lena Dixon; 4 grandchildren, Chavis Barron, Keiona Dixon, Genesis Gonzalez and Josiah Dixon; brother-in-law, Earl Taylor; sister-in-law, Doris Humphrey (Manuel); and a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
