Michael Anthony Parker Jr.

Michael Anthony “Partner” Parker Jr. was an inspiration to everyone he came in contact with. His natural ability to win people over with words of encouragement helped him form friendships quickly. He was born February 16, 1994 in Galveston, Texas. From birth he became every mother’s joy.   As a proud member of the community there was no extent he wouldn’t go to help his brothers in Christ. He was baptized at Greater St. Matthews Baptist Church in Hitchcock before the age of 10. He devoted much time in Word with his father, Rev. Michael Parker Sr.   Michael was educated in the public schools of La Marque, Texas and was a 2013 graduate of La Marque High School. After graduation, he did studies at College of the Mainland. He loved football and was a premier athlete for the Little League Teams (Tigers, Galveston County Heat and Hitchcock Red Raiders) and the La Marque Cougars.   As a great father to his son, Landon Miguel Parker, he enjoyed the sleepless nights and many diaper changes and rose each day to play catch with him. Mike’s tender heart made loving his baby boy a rewarding gift.   Respectfully, Mike worked for the City of Galveston for 3 years. His 5:00 AM calls to wake his baby sister Zoe helped keep her focused on achieving her goals.   He is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Ismael Mike Anzaldua Sr., Johnny Molina and Consuela Molina; grandfathers, Salvador Martinez Sr., J. D. Smith and Timothy Parker Sr.; uncles, Salvador Martinez Jr. and Kenneth Sowell.   Michael is survived by the love of his life, his son, Landon Miguel Hunter Parker and his mother, Joy Hunter; his parents, Tracy and Rev. Michael Parker Sr.; his siblings, Megan Martinez, Zoe Parker and Sergio Carrillo Jr.; his great-grandmother, Elida “MoMo” Anzaldua; his grandmothers, Ester Parker Smith and Eva Martinez; aunts, Faye Urps (Albert Jr.), Elaine Booth (Clyde), Tina Sifuentes (Felix); uncles, Vincent Burnett (Lorretta), O. C. Sowell (Rose), Timothy Parker (Yvonne), David Martinez (Juanita); favorite uncle and aunt, Jimmy and Delia Molina; great-aunts and uncles Irma Cantu (David), Ida Garza (Roy), Belida Whitehurst (Frank), Iris Ayala (Robbie), Josie Mejia, Mike Anzaldua (Michelle), Irina DeFoore (Steve); nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins, family members and friends.
