Mr. Christopher Jerrod Mathews

Christopher Mathews   In Texas City, Texas, June 4, 1984 was a special day for Lyndia Mathews and Elliot Robinson. God blessed them with the birth of their son, Christopher Jerrod Mathews, oh what a joy he was for his family. As a baby he was Christened at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in La Marque. At the age of three, he moved to the Clear Lake area with his family.   Chris, as he was lovingly called by family and friends was educated in the public schools of Clear Creek Independent School District. He had a love for sports since he was little. While at Clear Brook High school, he was active in basketball, football and baseball.   Chris loved his family and spending time with them. He was outgoing, spontaneous and he never met a stranger. If you were feeling down, you could count on him to put a smile on your face.   Christopher Jerrod Mathews transitioned from this life on September 23, 2017. He was preceded in death by his grandfather O.C. Mathews, grandmother Reva Mathews, aunts Donna Stevens and Denise Steadham and his cousin Timothy Mathews.   To cherish his memories, Chris leaves behind his fiancé Erica Clark, four children, Cory'on, Cameron, Elijah and Savanah, his loving and devoted mother, Lyndia Mathews-Carrier, stepfather Jimmie Carrier; his father, Elliot Robinson; his sister, Jamika Carrier, two half-sisters, Diya Lucas, and Joycelin McCray; half-brother, Darrius Robinson; only nephew, Tyson Valentine and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. He will be sadly missed by his friends and family.
