

Bishop Nora Wyatt, Jr….. His Earthly Life has ended and His Heavenly Life began Thursday December 3, 2020 at Saint Francis Hospital, Hartford, CT. He was born December 24, 1943 in Galveston, Texas to the late Mr. Nora and Mrs. Thelma Wyatt. He was the fourth of eight children, the descendant of Britton, Bell, Hobgood and the Caldwell families, who were the founders of 1867 Settlement in Galveston, Texas. Bishop Wyatt was a member of Rising Star Baptist Church in Texas City, Tx., baptized at an early age and accepted a call to ministry in June 1967. He attended Conroe College majoring in Christian Education, graduating May 1970 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. Advancing in his ministry, he was ordained at Rising Star Baptist Church. He continued preaching God’s word and was called to pastor at The Peaceful Rest Baptist Church in Wharton, Texas where he met his (African Queen) Eura Dell Stinson. They united in marriage November 24, 1972. Bishop Wyatt, being happily married, continued his education at Conroe College, graduating May 1973 with a Bachelor's Degree in Theology. Faithful in his ministry across the states, Bishop and family came to Hartford under the leadership of Bishop J. L. Fenner, of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Being here for over thirty years, he became a strong advocate of Civil Rights, Co-Producer and Host of Program “ Exposed 2000” which aired on Hartford Public Access TV Channel 5 in the state of Connecticut. On July 31, 2011, Bishop Wyatt was elected to become the Pastor of Solid Rock Church Ministries, 10 Boothbay Street, Hartford, CT. He had his unique way of teaching and preaching the word of God led by the Holy Spirit. Bishop Wyatt's favorite songs to sing were “ At The Cross” and “Let Us Have a Little Talk with Jesus”. One of his favorite sermons was ”When the Brook Dried Up”. He and his family are loved by the members.
He was preceded in death by mother Thelma Wyatt, father Nora Wyatt, Sr., son Terrance Holmes, brother John N. Wyatt and sister Gladys Douglas, all in Texas. He leaves to cherish his memories in love and devotion; a beautiful loving wife of 48 years, Mrs. Eura Dell (Stinson) Wyatt, sons Jason Wyatt and Christopher Wyatt (Laytricia) of Hartford, CT. and daughter Pamela Pettaway of Texas City, Tx; four brothers, Jerry Wyatt (Alma), Rev Michael Wyatt, Pastor Gregory Wyatt (Elaine), Grayline Wyatt, and sister, Patricia Cotton, all of Texas; sister in-laws Dolores (Stinson) Louis, Cathy (Stinson) Kuilan (Jose) and Janis Stinson; brother in-laws David Stinson (Lynn) and Alfred Stinson (Cherie); 20 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; close family friends Vickie Arnum, Donald & Sara Lipscomb, Solid Rock members, Mother Jacobs, the Taylor Family and Deacon Reuben Lloyd and family of Hartford, CT.
