Willie C. Frazier was born August 30, 1924 to the union of Clarence and Minnie Frazier in Shreveport, Louisiana. At the ripe "old age" of 8 months, Willie C. as he affectionately became known, moved with his parents to Hitchcock, Texas. There he attended Lorraine Crosby Elementary School and Central High School in Galveston, Texas. Although Willie C. was the smartest young man that most people knew, he left Central High School to pursue something that he became rather successful at doing - providing for himself and his family. However, because of his love and value of education, he returned to school later in life to earn his GED. While becoming quite the young entrepreneur in Galveston, Willie C. met and married the love of his life, Lorene Jones. To this union four boys were born. Willie C. and Lorene remained lovingly married for 50 years until her death on September 21, 1996. Willie C. eventually landed a coveted position with Monsanto Chemical Company in Texas City and moved the growing family of six to La Marque, Texas. He remained at Monsanto Chemical Company for 35 years and retired from there as a Supervisor at the age of 58. Willie C. confessed Christ at an early age (a testament to the Holy Spirit and his mother, Mama Minnie.) Mama Minnie made sure that none of her kids were going to grow up in her house and not know the Lord. Upon the move to La Marque, Willie C. and the family joined Progressive Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend B. W. Mc Washington; and later to Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church where he faithfully served as a Deacon until his death. Deacon Frazier served his church dutifully in a number of positions including Sunday School Teacher, Finance Office Assistant and as a Teacher and member of the Brotherhood. He was also very active in the National Baptist Convention and loved traveling and participating in their seminars. He was also very active in community and civic affairs including the NAACP, A. Phillip Randolph Institute, The Coalition of Black Democrats and the North Galveston County Democratic Organization. Deacon Frazier went to "Glory" at 1:20 PM on Monday, November 12, 2012. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lorene and three sons, James, John and Anthony. He leaves to cherish memories of his life: two sons, Leonard Frazier (daughter-in-law, Velma) of Houston, Texas and Willie Francois, Sr. of Galveston, Texas; two sisters, Enora Johnson and Daisy Frazier both of Texas City, Texas; one brother, Clarence Frazier, Jr. of Hayward, California; four grandchildren, Leonard Frazier, Jr. (Marva), Toya Davis (Calvin) both of Houston, Texas, Roderick Frazier, Willie Francois, Jr. both of Galveston, Texas; two great-grandchildren, D'Andre Frazier and Reverend Willie Francois, III both of Houston, Texas; devoted nieces, Tommie Jean Moguel of Galveston, Texas, Linda Jones of Oakland, California, Eugenia Johnson of Houston, Texas, Gloria Diabb of Burlington, North Carolina, Joanette Warren of Texas City, Texas, Brenda Spriggins of Nassau Bay, Texas; devoted nephews, Richard Kenny, of Texas City, Texas, Martin Jackson of Galveston, Texas and Willie Levi of Hitchcock, Texas; a devoted friend, Viola Lane of Texas City, Texas; and a host of other relatives, his Rising Star Church family, and many friends.
