Alene Sue Thompson

Alene Sue Thompson, 80 of Lancaster passed away on Monday, July 17th, 2023 at the Pickering House. Sue was born on February 11th, 1943 in Pineville, West Virginia to the late Ted and Edith Dalton. Over the years she had collected Barbie Dolls, Fenton Glassware and Longaberger Baskets, just to name a few. She was an accomplished bowler and enjoyed taking care of her flowers. Sue was a self-taught cake decorator, making many beautiful cakes for people over the years. She was really known for her famous cookies, especially her chocolate chip cookies. Most of all, Sue loved spending time with her family and she will truly be missed.

Sue is survived by her husband of 59 years, Ralph Thompson; daughters, Lisa Virgin and her daughter, Lacey Virgin; and Shonna (Tim) Riedlinger and their children, Luke and Ella Riedlinger; sisters, Joy Lafferty, Barbara Hull, and Sharon (David) Justice; nieces, nephews and many other loving family members and friends; as well as her beautiful Boston Terrier, Bella.

She was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother, Richard Dalton.
