

Tony was born June 15, 1940, in Buffalo, NY to Albert Peter Cote and Isabel Louise (Spielman) Cote.
A 1958 graduate of Notre Dame High School in Portsmouth, Ohio, Tony went on to serve honorably in the United States Army. In 1962, Tony wed the former Lynda Reinhardt, with whom he had four beloved children: Monica (Doug) Evans, Scott (Melanie) Cote, Andrew Cote, and Pamela (Kevin) Chenetski.
After retiring from Ohio Bell, Tony went on to spend many years working for the Fairfield County Auditor’s Office. Many great friends were made during both careers. Tony was also a long-time friend of Bill W., and made many treasured friends through him.
A Charter Lifetime Member of the American Motorcycle Association, Tony was known for his lifelong love of motorcycles and cars. Many will fondly remember Tony’s involvement with antique car shows and organized motorcycle rides.
Remaining to cherish Tony’s memory are his children; grandchildren, Caitlin (Nathan) Bonn, Joshua (Alyssa Timmons) Evans, Nicholas Cote, Emily (Ethan) Doon, Jesse Bischoff, Joel Cheadle, beloved step-children, Karen (Bruce) Young, Tracy (Joe) Whalen, step-grandchildren, Ashlee (Erik) Love, Sam (Kiersten) Young, Katie Whalen, Taylor Whalen, and 6 great-grandchildren.
Also mourning Tony’s loss are his brother, Albert (Janet) Cote, and sister, Mary Lou (Al) Meller, along with seven dear nieces and nephews.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Myrna (Kellett) Cote, and brother-in-law James Gilligan.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 2PM at the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME. Burial is to follow at Betzer Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12PM-2PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 283 (7725 Refugee Rd, Pickerington, OH 43147) or to a local Veteran charity of your choice.
