Beverly Ann Rohr-Hintz, of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on November 27, 2025. Born in West Virginia and a graduate of Dunbar High School, Beverly made her way to Ohio as a young woman and built a life defined by hard work, humor, and a spirit that was entirely her own.
Beverly was one of the toughest women you could meet, yet she carried a warmth and beauty that showed up in everything she touched — especially her home and her flowers. She had a gift for growing things. She could scatter a handful of seeds, tell them “it’s up to you now,” and her yard would explode into color. Her property became a place everyone loved, full of life and blooming in a way that felt like a reflection of her soul.
She loved her garden, her dogs, and her home. After retiring from her long career from White Castle corporate headquarters in Columbus Ohio, she started a hand-woven basket business, Bev’s Baskets, that grew into a successful and cherished craft. Her baskets were beautiful, detailed, and strong — just like her.
Beverly built a wonderful life and 28 year marriage with her loving husband Woodrow Hintz. Together they traveled the country and built a successful business, Tarhee Construction.
Beverly is survived by her husband, Woodrow Hintz; her daughter, Hayley (Williamson) Kistler and her husband Keith; her brother, Kevin Saul and his wife Sherry; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step children, nephews, and extended family who loved her deeply. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck Rohr; her mother, Juanita Hayes, step father Glen Hayes, her father, Boyd Saul, step mother Vickie Saul; her brother, Terry Saul, and his wife Sharon Saul; and her nephew, Dylan Saul.
In keeping with the way Beverly lived — practical, giving, and full of purpose — she chose to donate her body to science. There will be no funeral or viewing. A celebration of her life will be held in the spring or summer when her flowers are in full bloom, which is exactly the way she would have wanted to be remembered.
Her family takes comfort in knowing that her spirit lives on in every garden she inspired, every laugh she created, and every life she touched.
