Billie Jean Lutz

Billie Jean Lutz, 93 of Lancaster, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at the Pickering House. Billie was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Moose Women, American Legion Auxiliary, Eagles, Olivedale and the Elizabethan Circle. Billie will also be remembered for her 14 years in pet therapy, where she and her friend, Barb Uhl, would make weekly visits to nursing homes with their pets.

She is survived by her daughter, Becky (Richard H.) Smith, daughter-in-law, Beverly Lutz and sister, Trudy (John) Young all of Lancaster; 5 grandchildren, Heidi (Jerry) Raymond, David (Cindy) Lutz, Andy Lutz, Rick Smith and Tony Smith; 6 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Billie was preceded in death by her husbands, Willard L. Lutz and John Beekman; son, Terry David Lutz; parents, Dale and Wilma Harper; brother, David Lee Harper and sister Colleen Woodard.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home with Pastor Cheryl Foulk officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday at funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Billie’s memory to Pickering House or Fairfield Area Humane Society.
