Janet S. Butcher

Janet S. Butcher, age 71 of Lancaster formerly of Junction City passed away Tuesday, July 01, 2014 at the Pickering House, Lancaster, Ohio. Janet was a loving mother and grandmother and great friend to many. She was hard working and had many close friends and customers at Pizza Cottage, Donato’s and Risch’s Drug Store and Crestview Nursing Home, and was member of New Lebanon Evangelical Lutheran Church. She is survived by; her children: Rick, Toni (Dean Bresler), Karen, and special daughter Laura (Bill Mallory), grandchildren; Kaycee (Ron), Adam, great grandchildren,; Logan, Lillian, Lucas and Nanny to; Courtney, and Lindsey, sisters, Joyce Gleason , Melanie Miller, Holly (Curt Houk), Carole Sue (Brad) Browning, brother Gary Lawyer, brother-in-law, Dick Boling, nieces and nephews. Also survived by her special friend John “Buck” Ramey.

Preceded in death by parents Denver and Geneva Simmons and a sister Judith Boling.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon Saturday, July 5, 2014 at New Lebanon Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Justin O. Orman officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home and Saturday from 11:00-12:00 a.m. at the New Lebanon Evangelical Lutheran Church, Junction City prior to services.

The family suggests contributions to the Pickering House or to Janet’s church in her memory.
