Janice Sue Glenn, age 79, passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday March 31, 2026. Born on September 19, 1946, she was the daughter of the late James Leroy and Mary Lucille (Engle) Glenn. Janice was a 1964 graduate of Berne Union High School. She continued her education at Capital School of Beauty Culture. Her first job was at Ruby’s Beauty Salon in 1965, when her take-home pay was just over $18. After several years of gaining experience and working in other salons, she decided to open her own beauty salon, Janice’s Beauty Salon, at the corner of E Fifth and N Maple in 1974. She sold her salon in 2009 but continued working until she retired in 2011. Janice was a managing cosmetologist for 47 years, with 35 years as a business owner. In 2002 she was selected to serve as Ohio’s representative to the National Republicans Congressional Committee for small business owners. Janice enjoyed a wide variety of activities throughout her life including being one of the oldest members of Berne Union’s Marching Alumni Band; Olivedale’s Handbell Choir, Polynesian Dance, Kitchen Band and Lancaster Community Band. She was a 56-year-old member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Past Matron of both M.Z. Kreider #145 and Venus Chapter #76 Logan. She served in many capacities in both chapters including Cancer Representative 1999, Starpoint appointments, Chaplain, other Line Officer positions and Grand Page to Grand Ruthin the late 90’s. She was also an affiliated member of the Bluebell Chapter #151, Shawnee. Janice enjoyed traveling with her family, having been to all 50 states. A once in a lifetime opportunity came in 2000 with a trip to the Holy Land. Jan had a servant’s heart that made her dear to all those who loved her. She will be sorely missed. We want to thank everyone who has been involved in her care these last few years, especially most recently the staff of Fairhope Hospice. Also, our heartfelt gratitude to our church family at Lancaster Church of Christ for their steadfast support during this difficult time. Janice was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her sister, Mary Christine, several cousins, family and friends.
