John W. Browning Jr., 90, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ Friday October 19, 2012 at Crestview Nursing Home. He was the son of the late John W. Browning Sr. and Minnie Fox Browning born July 1, 1922 in Paducah, KY. John was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Lancaster and Church Choir Director and song leader for 40 years in Illinois. He is survived by his wife, Betty; daughters, Linda, Sara and son, Jack; 17 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren with 2 on the way, 1 sister and 2 brothers, numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Funeral services will be held 12:30 p.m. Monday at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Matthew Nihiser officiating. Family and friends may visit from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home and 10:30 to 12:30 Monday at the Church. Private burial will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery.
