Larry Dean Childrey, 84, of Lancaster, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 11, 2025. He was born on October 25, 1941, in Vanceburg, Kentucky to the late Frank and Reathel Childrey. He enjoyed being an engineer for the children’s train at the River Valley Mall, where he was known to many as “Choo-Choo Childrey”. Larry loved the Lord and serving people in His name. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Barbara, and devoted father to their children, Dean and Deanna.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Dean (Neely) Childrey and Deanna Childrey; grandson, Gabe (Hailey Green) Allen; and great-grandson, Zander Allen.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2025 at 4PM at the First Baptist Church (1950 Pleasantville Rd. Lancaster, OH 43130) with Dr. Tim Rucker officiating. Visitation will take place at the church at 3:30PM until the time of the services.
