

Linda L (Solt) Strohm died on May 2, 2025. She was born in Carrol OH on March 23rd, 1937. She was a 1955 Lancaster High graduate. Started nursing school, however chose a different path. She was married once, and divorced, to the father of her children. He proceeded her in death. While she raised her children she enjoyed camping, sewing and playing euchre in a card club, she then went on to be a member of that club for 50 years. Later in life she returned to college and earned her Associate of Arts degree. She went backpacking for the first time at age 60, on the Appalachian Trail. She ended up hiking over 500 miles of the trail. She loved to travel, take photos and was an avid reader. She loved to shop all her life, from antiques to clothes and collected “stuff” or as she would say treasures. She loved dogs and raised several during the past 30 years.
She retired from the city of Lancaster, after 30 plus years as the registrar of Vital Statistics. When her health began to fail and surgery loomed, she said don’t mourn my loss, I had a good life, no regrets. She is survived by her daughter Lisa Strohm of Lancaster, OH and son Eric (Lana) Strohm of Gahanna, OH. Also two other sons, Kevin(Penny) and Scott(Lesley). She has five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. She is also survived by her sister Carolyn Smeck of Lancaster and brother Keith (Aileen) Solt, of Longmont, Colorado. Many nieces and nephews. She had many lifelong friends, Biruta, Pat and Carolyn, from school and remained close. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday May 31, 2025 at Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home. In place of flowers donations can be made to Operation Smile.
