Opal "Ginny" Mason

Ginny spent her life in service to her Lord through playing bass guitar with The SoulSeekers gospel group, traveling to Haiti as part of a mission team with her children and through service at her home church River of Life. She loved listening to her family sing and play musical instruments and was always humming a song of praise.

Her greatest joy in life was the time she spent with her children and grandchildren and you would often hear her say “I am the most blessed woman, to have the family that I have.”

She is survived by her children, Shirley (Ed) Sharp, Judy Thrush, Lois Hoshor, and Ronald (Sheri) Mason; grandchildren, Ginny (Joe) Smathers, Tim (Julia) Mattox, Shari Mount, Jerry (Susan) Thrush, Robin (Bob) Hutchinson, Angel (Randy) LeuVoy, John (DeAnna) Hoshor, Ginger (Tim) Reed

Julie (Austin) Mason – Jubb, Kevin (Stephanie) Mason, Mindy (Bill) Dunston, and Marcus Jones Mason; 46 great grandchildren; 52 great great grandchildren; and close special friends, Tony and Connie Barringer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Merrick Merle Mason; parents, Rev. Richard and Flossie Green; siblings, Joe Green, Ruby Mason and Mary Ruth Williard; sons in law, Fred Thrush and Bob Hoshor; granddaughter, Karla Sharp Trego; great grandsons, Brian Allen Gustafson and Timothy Aaron Mattox; great great grandson, Carter Jaxson Thrush.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 24th, 2023 at 1PM at the River of Life Church (5090 Carnes Rd. Carroll, OH 43112) with Pastor James Edward Sharp officiating. Burial is to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Lancaster. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 6PM-8PM at the church; as well as ONE HOUR PRIOR to the services on Monday.
