Phil McCafferty

Phil Eugene McCafferty, 78, of Lancaster passed away on Friday, February 10th, 2017 at the Homestead Center. Phil was born in Rushville, OH on March 23rd, 1938 to the late Burl and Eleanor (Garrison) McCafferty. He served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army and was a graduate of Ohio University. Phil was mechanically inclined and worked as an Electrical Engineer for Diamond Power. Phil will always be remembered as an outstanding Husband, Father, and wonderful friend. He was a great mentor and exceptional father to his two sons and many other young men.

Phil is survived by his sons; Doug (Jill) McCafferty, and Brian McCafferty; grandchildren; Madison, Bailey, and Cole; brother, Rodger (Sharon) McCafferty; nephew, Neal (Breanna) McCafferty; as well as many other loving family members.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Burl and Eleanor, his wife Rebecca, and nephew, Clay McCafferty; and many other family members.

Funeral services will be held on Friday February 17th, 2017 at the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME at 11AM with Pastor Bill Means officiating. Friends may visit on Thursday from 2-4PM & 6-8PM at the funeral home. Burial is to follow at Forest Rose Cemetery.
