
Sara (Sally) E. Baker, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully, Sunday April 16th at Fairfield Medical Center, surrounded by family. She was 85. Sally was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Lancaster, and Olivedale Senior Center. She volunteered at the Fairfield Health Department and Meals-on-Wheels. Before retiring, she was employed by Trimmer Insurance Agency, Fairfield National Bank and PICO Insurance Company. Sally was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Although Sally found joy in almost every aspect of life, nothing gave her more satisfaction than spending time with her loving husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Bennie L. Baker; two daughters,Deborah (James) Campbell of Worthington; Cheryl (Stephen) Hedges of Athens;four grandsons, J. David (Kaylan) Campbell, Jr., Andrew (Amanda) Campbell, Will Campbell (Allie Califano) and Ben (Allyssa) Hedges; four great-grandchildren, James David (Trip) Campbell III, Emma Kay Campbell, Jack Baker Campbell, and Julia Lynn Campbell; brother and sisters-in-law, Joe (Joyce) Winegardner and Rose Winegardner of Lancaster; Margaret Winegardner of Thornville; and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond & Mary Winegardner; sister, Rose Marie (William) Bresler; and brothers, Stanley (Myrtle), Roger, Merle (Dorothy), Gerald, and Robert Winegardner.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 22nd at 11:00AM at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 105 E. Mulberry St. Lancaster. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the Celebration of Life service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts to St. Peter's Lutheran Church. The family wants to express their deep appreciation to Dr. Reinig, Dr. Pope, and Ashley, 3rd floor PCU nurse for their compassionate care.
