Shelby Jean Pierce

Shelby Jean (Phillips) Pierce was called home to be with our Lord on Jan. 7th at Fairfield Medical Center with her loving family surrounding her. She was born April 15, 1940 in Nelsonville, Ohio. She worked for Ralston Purina.

Shelby is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Marion Pierce, Jr.; children, Penny (Gary) Holliday, Vicky (Daryl) Smith, Gregory Hitchings, Tracy and Vickie Pierce; Grandchildren, Shelley Baker, John (Valerie) Starner, Holly Starner, Chris (Kelley) Smith, James (Nefertis Metz) Smith, Jennifer Ann (Jeremy Latiolais) Smith, Gavin (Kayla) Hitchings, Austin (Amanda) Hitchings, Ryan (Jessica Young) Morris and Sarah (Josh Embrey) Morris. Great Grandchildren: Kenny, Darby, Brandon, Destiny, Brooklynn, Breanna, Drevan, Braxdon, Camden, Adalynn, Ayla, Hunter, Dominic, Emmi, Autumn, Kayden, Alanah, Noah, Faith and Peyten. great-great granddaughter, Kristal; Her beloved pets, Molly and Mimmi.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Norma Phillips, son, Michael Hitchings, sister, Cheryl Hamilton, daughter-in-law Becki Hitchings and father-in-law, Marion F. Pierce, Sr.

Friends may visit from and 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Dan Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville.
