Steven Keith Shumaker

Steven Keith Shumaker, 70, of Lancaster, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at his residence. He was born on June 2, 1955 in Lithopolis, Ohio to the late Merle Shumaker and Naomi Ellen (Buck) Boggs. Steven served in the United States Navy and worked as a truck driver. He drove both over the road trucks and dump trucks, with dump trucks being his favorite to drive. He was a loving husband, father, grandpa, and brother. He enjoyed a good party and making people laugh. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joy “Crickett” Shumaker; children, Steve (Shawna) Shumaker, Mike Snyder, Jason (Michelle) Shumaker, and Zackery Shumaker; sisters, Janice Gulick and Sharon Layne; brothers in law, Joseph Austin and Jack Austin; grandchildren, Echo (Masyn) Schriner, Maddy Shumaker, Baja Shumaker, Zackery Shumaker Jr., Emma Shumaker, and Cameron Shumaker; great-grandchildren, Bella Shaffer, Hadley Shaffer and Jason David Simon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lois Spangler and Joyce Newsome; grandson, Michael Noah Snyder and Jason David Shumaker Jr. and aunt, Margaret Morrison; mother in law, Connie Austin Severing; grandmother in law, Kate Rinehart; as well as other extended family members.

Dignity Cremation is to take place through the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME.
