Susan R Peters

Susan R. Peters, 74, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully into her Savior’s arms at 1:30AM on Saturday, August 26th, 2023 at the Pickering House. Susan was born in Sturgis, Michigan on August 7th, 1949 to the late John and Ruth (Elliott) Moore. She worked as a Kindergarten Teacher Aid in the Indiana Public School System for 26 years. Susan and her husband of 12 years, Steven were members of the Oakthorpe Church in Thornville. Susan was loved by all that knew her and she will truly be missed.

Susan is survived by her husband, Steven Peters; sons, Matthew (Kristi) McCombs and Ryan (Chantale) McCombs; grandchildren, Jaydon Wright, Colton McCombs, Ian McCombs, Mitchell McCombs and Ocean Coady; 4 great-grandchildren; siblings, David (Becki) Moffett-Moore. Joyce (Alan) Spayd, Phillip (Rowena) Moore, and Joseph (Kim) Moore; bonus children, Nicole (Justin) Suttles, Crystal (Andy) Moyer, and Ryan (Brittany) Peters; 6 bonus grandchildren; as well as many other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Michael McCombs of Dunkirk, Indiana.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 31st, 2023 at 12PM at the Oakthorpe Church (6075 Oakthorpe Rd Ne, Thornville, OH 43076) with Pastor Mel Truex officiating. Burial is to follow at Oakthorpe Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10AM until the time of the services on Thursday.
