

Sylvia M. Garrett 83 of Lancaster passed away Sunday, February 12, 2012, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 1, 1928, in Lancaster, Ohio to the late Howard and Jenny Eads. Sylvia graduated from Lancaster High School and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She retired from Anchor Hocking Corporation.
She is survived by her devoted and loving family, husband, Richard L. Garrett; sons, Steven (Cinda) Reid, Robert (Janice) Reid; daughter, Amy (Don) Goldsberry; grandchildren, Nicholas (Creagh) Reid, Alisha (Kevin) Miller, Rob Reid, Brandon (Sarah) Reid, Heather Reid (fiancé Jesse Stickel), Ben (Amy) Goldsberry, Lindsay (Brian) Spackey and Dustin (Kari) Goldsberry; eight great-grandchildren; brother, James Eads; sisters, Lovetta (Tom) Brubaker and Norma Lytle; brothers-in-law, Bob (Jo) Garrett and James (Phyllis) Garrett; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Bill and Jack Eads.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home with Rev. Robert McDowell officiating. Private burial will be at Forest Rose Cemetery. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to services on Thursday at the funeral home.
She was loved by all who knew her. Her beautiful smile and wonderful laugh will be missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to have known her.
