

Vernon Edward Senig Jr., age 82, of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away peacefully after an illness on Saturday, January 17, 2026. Born on February 21, 1943, in Lancaster to Vernon, Sr. and Helen Senig, Vern spent his life deeply rooted in his hometown. A proud graduate of Lancaster High School, class of 1961, Vern dedicated 50 years of service to Anchor Hocking, retiring in 2011. Vern’s fierce love for his family was evident to all who knew him. He found joy in reading and was an enthusiastic supporter of baseball and football, especially the Cincinnati Reds and The Ohio State Buckeyes. Vern was also an avid hunter and fisherman, and a longtime member of Fairfield County Fish and Game. His bright smile and gentle demeanor touched many lives and will be greatly missed. He is lovingly remembered by his three children: Lori (Dale) Crook, Heather (Dave) Parkman, and Jeff (Katy) Senig; and his cherished grandchildren: Hannah Parkman, Zachary Parkman, and Kylee Hutchinson. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Carol Senig.A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
