It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Albert Benoit, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, whose life was filled with kindness, curiosity, and devotion to family. Albert passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories.
Albert was born in Cornwall, Ontario on May 6,1939 and passed on August 10, 2025, at the age of 86 in Langley, British Columbia.
Albert’s love for the sea shaped much of his life. As a Chief Marine Engineer for Imperial Oil, he traveled the beautiful British Columbia coast, combining his technical skill with his deep appreciation for the ocean. Whether navigating busy harbors or quiet coves, the water was always where he felt most at home.
When not at sea, Albert found joy in quieter pursuits. He was an avid stamp collector, fascinated by the history and stories each small image could hold. He also poured countless hours into building intricate train sets, creating miniature worlds that reflected his patience, and creativity. Albert also enjoyed his garage and wood working, building furniture, always inviting all to his “den” as he called it to admire his latest creations.
Albert is survived by his devoted wife, Donna; his three children, David (Mandy), Ann (Jihad), and Paul (Peggy); and four grandsons, Matthew, Joshua, Samuel, and Alex, who will carry forward his spirit of curiosity, care and kindness. Albert dedicated his life to his family.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (20676 Fraser Highway, Langley, BC) to celebrate a life well-lived — one of dedication, compassion, and love.
A Reception to follow at 22831 Rennie Avenue, Fort Langley.
Albert will be deeply missed, but the legacy of his kindness, passion, and craftsmanship will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
