Beatrice Mary Hartl

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Beatrice Mary Hartl (nee Todd) at McKenney Creek Hospice in the morning of October 27, 2012 after a short and gracious battle with pancreatic cancer. She was predeceased by her parents Edward and Theresa Todd and her son David Thomas. Bea is survived by her loving husband of 61 years Gus; sons Philip (Linda), Doug (Poona), Bob (Pat), Dennis , Gus Jr. (Brenda); grandchildren Trevor (Amanda), Jennifer (Ante), Douglas (Christina), Navada (Steven), Janelle (Andrew), Jared, Serena (James), Whitney (Justin), Jessica (Brad) and Meagan; great grandchildren Luka, Spencer, Ben, Cate, Olivia, Hudson, Taylin and Quinn; , sisters Peg Emmett, Terry Rodden (Bill), Dorothy Blue (Arnold), Lucille Moreau and Kay Todd; and many many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bea was born on November 10, 1929 in Starbuck, Manitoba and raised by her parents in Starbuck until she met and married Gus in 1951 in Calgary. Bea and Gus raised their six boys across the country - in Quinton Saskatchewan, Dauphin Manitoba, Swan River Manitoba, Ottawa Ontario and Aldergrove British Columbia. They spent their retirement years between their homes in Abbotsford and Arizona and more recently at the Renaissance Home in Langley. Bea entertained her friends and family with her gift of piano and love of music. Her smile was infectious and her welcoming nature always made visitors feel loved in their home. Bea will also be remembered for her tears, her dimples and her love of children, friends and family – always in abundance.
