Cecile Gaye Gerry

Cecile quietly passed away on June 19, 2017 after a courageous journey with cancer.

Cecile is survived by her husband Jerry Brownlee, by her sister Vicki Eckert, nephew Dan Groden, close cousins; Bonnie Eckert and Ken Wilson (Nancy) and numerous other family & friends who treasure their relationship with Cecile.

Cecile tackled life head on and no obstacle was too big to deter her once she had her mind set on a goal. Her open & straight up personality allowed her to make friends easily. Her working career included several office jobs and positions in retail sales. She operated a successful pet grooming business in her later years which got its start from her love of animals. She spent several years volunteering for the Langley Hospice Foundation and the Fibromyalgia Well Spring Foundation. Cecile was never deterred by numerous medical issues that afflicted her over the years. She loved working on her crafts – including ceramics & cross stitch and enjoyed numerous travel trips throughout western North America by RV.

A big Thank-you goes out to all those who helped with Cecile’s medical care, including family & friends, Dr. Rina DuPlessis, the Fraser Health Home Care group & Langley Hospice.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 1pm on Wednesday July 5, 2017 at Henderson's Langley Funeral Home, 20786 Fraser Highway Langley, B.C.
