It is with the utmost sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Clifford ‘Stuart’ Weir. He passed away peacefully with family at his side on Saturday morning at 9:55, June 14th, 2025 at the age of 95.
He was predeceased by his first wife of 33 years, Gloria Mary Weir nee Ward, by his second wife of 30 years, Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Weir nee McPherson, his son, Glenn Barry Weir, his brothers Brian and Grant Weir, and both parents, Andrew ‘Clifford’ Weir and Georgina ‘Ena’ Weir nee Jewell.
Stuart is survived by his daughters Tia Alison Weir and Andrena Siobhan Ryznar, son-in-law Dan Ryznar, stepdaughter Helene Lowe, stepson Craig Lowe and many close nieces and nephews.
He was born in Lougheed, Alberta February 21, 1930.
He worked for a time with the Vancouver City sewer board, and as a surveyor on the building of the Cleveland Dam before deciding to go back to university where he obtained his teaching degree. He spent the rest of his working life as a teacher and then a Vice Principal for the Delta School Board. He was a natural teacher and truly loved educating children. He met and retained many wonderful friendships from his teaching years.
After a short struggle with cancer, Mr. Fix-It took his leave of us with grace and moved on in search of something requiring a screwdriver or some such tool attached to his belt.
He will be forever missed by many.
We would like to extend our utmost thanks to the nurses ‘angels’ and staff of the McKenney House Hospice in Maple Ridge where he received such amazing care.
The family will hold a private memorial at a later date to celebrate the life of Stuart.
