Don was born in Vancouver to George and Vivian Easton and grew up in Maple Ridge as part of a large family with nine siblings.
Don will be greatly missed and forever loved by his wife Linda of 32 years and the children that he was so very proud of, Scott (Pam) Easton, Stacie (Kevin) Yarrow, Blair (Terry) Canning, and Michelle (Darren) Pottle. Don was predeceased by his daughter Sherri Medeiros and it brings the family some peace knowing that they are together now. He is also survived by his first wife, Anne Marchi.
Don was a proud Papa to Megan (Keaton) Easton, Karlie (Kyle) Easton, Ian Canning, Andrew (Elana) Canning, Adam Sandulac and Logan Pottle. He was recently blessed to be a Great Papa to Drew and Lilah.
While living in Maple Ridge, Don served 32 years as a Provincial Corrections Officer in BC before retirement in 2002. He embarked on his second "career" as an avid golfer. While Don did not get the chance to play his dream course, The St Andrews Golf Club in Scotland, he loved every day that he did spend on the links with his many close friends.
Don was also a long-standing member of The Royal Canadian Legion, Maple Ridge Branch No 088, where he enjoyed the camaraderie of dear friends and evenings dancing to live music.
Don’s Celebration of Life will be held on August 5th, 2023, at 12:30 pm (doors will open at noon) in the Copper Room at Newlands Golf & Country Club located at 3205 48 Ave, Langley, BC, V3A 3M3.
“Don, you will be truly missed by the many friends and extended family members whose lives you touched.”
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
When out on the links, please do think of Don, and enjoy the hunt for a lost ball or two.
