Donald Melvin Sparks

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather. After a long fulfilling life Donald passed away peacefully in his sleep shortly after his 89th birthday. Predeceased by his parents Raymond and Florence Sparks, daughter Donna Doyle, brothers Kenneth and Walter Sparks. Donald will be dearly missed by his wife of nearly 69 years Irene, Son Rene (Helene), Sisters Helen and Viola, Grandchildren Shannon, Shalene (Trooper), Monica (Chris), Brenda (Carey), and Karla (Douglas) and great-grandchildren, Dakota, Dezeray, Sorrel, Kade, Otis, Grace, Adison and Keaton, and many more family and friends. When we think about Donald, many fond memories will be cherished, such as vacations all over the world with Irene (one of his favorite places to visit was Australia), sitting in his chair keeping a close eye on the stock market, and relaxing in the sun with a cold beer on a warm day. We love you Donald, Dad, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa – you will be in our hearts forever.

A viewing has been arranged for Friday December 2nd from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Henderson’s Langley Funeral Home. In lieu of flower donations can be made to the lung cancer association or BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.
