Eldwin Murry Brooks

With sadness we announce the passing of Eldwin Murry (Murray) Brooks, of Langley BC on July 20, 2012 at Langley, BC after a battle with Cancer. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Thomas Henry and Jane Brooks, bothers Dave, Tom, Ben and Milton and sisters Eva, Margaret and Donna. Born on December 22, 1935 at Brock, Saskatchewan, he is survived by his loving wife Shirley, his “adopted” children Brad, and Colleen Hartman of Cloverdale, BC and Cal and Pam Carriere of Maple Ridge, BC. He was the proud “Grandfather” to Ashley Carriere , Alandra Hartman and Michaela Hartman. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Eleanor Brooks, her son Bill Brooks (Lana) and his family, all of Peterburough, Ontario, sister- in-law Grace Brooks, her sons Don (Sally) and his family all of Gravenhurst, Ontario, brother-in-law Paul Stewart and his family, Arthur, Carol, Catherine, and Robert and their families of Toronto, Ontario, sisters-in -law and brothers-in-law, Rose Ball of Burnaby, BC John and Betty Zaharia of Maple Ridge, BC, Paul and Carole Zaharia of Kamloops BC, Lil Gagnon of Rocanville, Saskatchewan, and Don Zaharia of The Pas, Manitoba and numerous nieces and nephews in his extended family. He is also survived by nieces Robin Johnstone (Tom) of Kelowna, BC and her family, Heather Balogh (George) of Sharbot Lake Ontario and her family, and Gail Hunt of Oakville, Ont. and her family. Also, great nieces and nephews, too numerous to mention. He was a friend of many.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday August 7th, 2012 at Henderson’s Langley Funeral Home, 20786 Fraser Hwy. Langley BC with a tea to follow.
