AVIS DE DÉCÈS

Glenn Forbes McPherson

12 mars 1954 – 10 juillet 2024
AUX SOINS DE

Henderson's Langley Funeral Home

Following a motorcycle accident on Golden Ears Way in Pitt Meadows, BC, Glenn tragically died on July 10, 2024. Glenn was predeceased by his father Ron in 1983, by his mother Patricia in 2000, and by his wife of 10 years, Loretta in 2018. He is survived by his sister Janet Mackenzie, brother in-law, Robert, nephew Chris, and nieces Lesley and Heather.

Born March 12, 1954 in Saskatchewan, he was educated at schools in Flin Flon, Brandon, and Winnipeg, MB. He started working for The Hudson's Bay Company Northern Stores Division in northern Ontario but did not like the isolation and returned to Winnipeg and studied Business Management at Red River College. Glenn followed his father into the lumber business "Selling Sticks" as he used to say beginning his career in Saskatoon, SK moving on to Calgary, AB and then to Vancouver, BC. While living there, he worked in Richmond and most recently in Langley. In Vancouver he volunteered at Simon Fraser University teaching computer programming which was a passion of his. During this time, he was also able to volunteer at a Formula One car race which took place in Vancouver and Operation Red Nose.

A celebration of life organized by his dear friends, Neita Nelson and Chris Middleton has taken place in Port Coquitlam on July 26 with some friends, colleagues, and family attending. Henderson's Langley Funeral Home was in charge of final arrangements. Cremation has taken place with his ashes to be buried beside his wife at the Langley Lawn Cemetery in Langley, BC and beside his parents in the St. Vital Cemetery in Winnipeg, MB at a later date.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the Maple Ridge RCMP, the various emergency response teams attending the accident, and to Rob Schuler of the BC Coroner's office for his compassion and assistance.

Flowers are gratefully declined. If inclined, donations may be made to the 2 charities that Glenn volunteered much of his time: Operation Red Nose and local animal shelters.

Glenn is now forever riding free, and may he rest in peace.
