AVIS DE DÉCÈS

Graham Gedling Midgley

13 juin 1938 – 16 avril 2026
Avis de décès de Graham Gedling Midgley
AUX SOINS DE

Henderson's Langley Funeral Home

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Graham Gedling Midgley, who died on April 16, 2026, in Langley, BC, at the age of 87, surrounded by his loving family.

Born June 13, 1938 in Liverpool, England to Thomas George Midgley and Ivy Isobel Midgley (née Gedling), Graham grew up in the Bootle area of Liverpool. He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Brian and Neil.

In his youth, Graham was an avid motorbike rider and a passionate supporter of Liverpool FC. That devotion never wavered, and seeing Liverpool win the Premier League last year was a fitting highlight after more than eight decades of loyal support.

He completed his mandatory National Service with the British Army in Cyprus in the mid 1950s before beginning a successful career with the Mersey Docks and Harbour Board. In 1979, he emigrated to Canada with his family, beginning a new chapter of life in Vancouver.

Graham met the love of his life, Judy (née Evans), in 1965—he a patient, she a nurse. They married in December 1966 in her hometown of Wrexham, in the midst of a snowstorm, beginning a partnership that would span nearly 60 years.

Together, Graham and Judy built a life centered on family. He was a devoted father to Stephen (Louanne) and Michael (Lisa), and a proud and deeply involved Poppa to his four grandsons—Richard, Owen, David, and Dylan—whose lives brought him immense joy. Always a kid at heart, Graham’s legacy lives on in his grandchildren.

Graham found great pleasure in tending to his garden, where over the years he grew vegetables and his famously towering sunflowers. Known for his unmistakable Scouse wit, he brought laughter to those around him.

His passing leaves a profound void in the lives of all who knew and loved him, but we were fortunate to have such a loving husband, father, and Poppa at the head of our family table for so many years.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife Judy, his sons and daughters-in-law, his grandsons, and extended family.

At Graham’s request, there will be no service.

You’ll Never Walk Alone.
