AVIS DE DÉCÈS

Harold Guilford Simpson

11 septembre 1946 – 15 septembre 2024
Avis de décès de Harold Guilford Simpson
AUX SOINS DE

Henderson's Langley Funeral Home

Harold was born as the first child of Guilford Simpson and Norma Simpson (née Holliston). He would be joined by younger sister Lorraine in 1949 in Vancouver where he spent his childhood.

Upon high school graduation, Harold attended Bible College and entered the workforce during which time he and his love, Helen Julia Carlson, married on March 15, 1969. After they wed, Harold went on to earn his BA in Education from Simon Fraser University in 1975 and they welcomed first daughter, Corinne Sandra, on November 3 of that year. Soon after they welcomed second daughter, Shannon Joy, on June 29, 1978.

Harold was a man of great faith active in his church community throughout his life. From teaching bible study, being a life group leader, or driving the Sunday School Bus at Broadway Church during his young adulthood to volunteering as an usher, serving communion, and becoming the communion coordinator later at Broadway Church, his faith was always at the forefront. He and Helen operated the information desk during their time at White Rock Baptist.

Harold was also a great many other things: devoted husband, best friend, and travel partner to Helen throughout their life together; supportive and proud dad to “the kids” Corinne and Shannon; happy father-in-law to Scott Kosman when he joined the family through marrying Shannon on October 23, 1999; celebrated history teacher at Burnaby North, avid photographer, selector of a wild array of music for family camping trips, purveyor of “Dad jokes”, Peanuts and Snoopy afficionado, and so much very more. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.

Harold is survived by his beloved wife Helen, daughters Corinne and Shannon, son-in-law Scott, and sister Lorraine Brown. He will be well remembered by sister-in-law Eleanor Dyck and husband Shane, many nephews and nieces, and friends from all walks of life.

Harold’s celebration of life service will be held in Fort Langley Community Church (8870 Glover Road, Fort Langley, BC) on Tuesday, September 24th, 2024 at 11:00 AM. A tea reception will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to Harold’s favored charity, Union Gospel Mission.
