Avis de décès de James (Jim) Stewart Keay
AUX SOINS DE

Henderson's Langley Funeral Home

Jim Keay passed peacefully on the evening of March 14th at the age of 91 at his home in Langley, B.C. He is survived and deeply missed by his wife Nola of 70 years, 3 Children Garry, Greg, and Sue, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, and raised by his parents Lucy and Malcolm on the farm that his Grandfather had settled on in 1885. He married Nola in 1953 and they had 3 children. Jim had many different professions in his lifetime, he started working at a very young age on his parent's farm, and he continued to work as a young boy during World War II. After he graduated, he owned a Taxi company, then spent 10 years as a Highway Traffic Officer, while working full time as an officer he attended night school and became a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan. He had Market Gardens and was a Driver instructor. Later he owned his own construction company, as he was a Journeyman Carpenter by trade. He spent many years developing land, building multiple homes. He put a number of his employees through school so they also could become journeymen. Jim also donated over 50 pints of blood to the Red Cross. Jim also had a love for all animals, especially his Giant Schnauzers, earlier in life, it was his horse, a baby bear, a deer, and his cat. He moved to Langley in mid 80's, where he continued to be in construction of all different types. He also treasured the time with his coffee buddies in Langley.
