Jesse Scott Gerald Cook entered into the world June14, 1992 and tragically left us May 30, 2021 at the young age of 28. Predeceased by his beloved Papa, he is survived by a large, loving immediate and extended family, friends, and acquaintances from all walks of life. Jesse had the ability to show kindness to everyone he crossed paths with. He had a loving, gentle heart, and such a giving nature it was almost to a fault. He had no problem giving someone his last dollar, or the shirt off his back, even if he needed it himself. He loved helping people and didn't mind going without if it meant you didn't have to. Jesse was my first love. The day he was born I had never felt such a strong bond or love for anyone in my life. He taught me what unconditional love was. Jesses heart was so loyal, he taught me more in his young years than he realized. He was always good to talk to if you needed advice and was always there to help. Jess was really smart and wise for his age. He could always look at a situation from all angles. He could have a conversation with a young person or a 90 year old. It didn't matter, he connected with everyone. Jesse was adventurous. The day he was born I swear he was running. He was always looking for things to do. He loved the outdoors, having bonfires and beers with friends. Jesse loved his family, his friends, his mamas dog Daisey and his dog Luna. He loved all animals. Jesse loved his Toyota truck he worked so hard to buy. He worked up north building a hydroelectric dam in a camp working 7 days a week 12 hour days for months at a time in the winter. Once the job was completed he left with multiple recommendations from all the top bosses. He also worked as a welder, and in construction. His one boss was still calling him months after Jess had moved on trying to get him to come back. He was one of the hardest workers I've ever seen. Growing up he played soccer, baseball lacrosse, was in motorcross for awhile, snowboarding, and was a great skateboarder. His papa built him a halfpipe in our backyard. Boy was he popular in the neighborhood then! Camping and the Oregon sand dunes were some of his best memories. Later in life Jesse encountered some challenges which he was struggling to overcome. But he never gave up, he always tried. He always tearfully apologized and hated himself for putting me through it. It broke my heart. I always told him he could do it, how proud I was of him and how much I loved him. He did go into treatment a few times and successfully completed a program at MRTC. Seeing the spark return in his eyes and all the goals he was setting for himself was so exciting. I was so proud of him. Jess being the handy person he was was looking into mechanics or electrician trade school. Unfortunately Jesse suffered multiple relapses but he never quit trying. He never gave up. I will forever miss Jesse's million dollar hugs, his smile, his laugh, his jokes, conversations, helpful ways, his loyal heart, and his mischievous stories we would laugh so hard at. Boy he had alot of those! He was a gem. He gifted me so much in his life. I'm forever empty at his loss. He was my heart, my smile, my purpose to life, my everything. He is forever loved and will be forever missed. Resting now with his Papa in heaven. May the Lord wrap his arms around you. Your struggles and pain are over now. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to MRTC - Maple Ridge treatment facility or Kimz Angels in Jesse's memory. A celebration of life will be held at a later date to accommodate everyone.
