Krista Hannan, born in Vancouver, BC on November 23, 1970 passed away at Abbotsford Regional Hospital on August 19, 2021 at just 50 years of age after a very quick, six week battle with cancer.
Krista was a loving daughter and sister, a connector of cousins, a caring friend, a long time Langley resident, a giving community volunteer, a Fort Langley entrepreneur, one of the most dedicated dog moms ever and so very proud of her Irish heritage.
Krista spent her life working for organizations and companies that help the community including BCAA, Langley Child Development Centre, Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, Gateway of Hope, Save-On Foods Customer Service, and Pharmasave. She was a dedicated volunteer, donating her time and energy at Langley Canada Day Celebrations, LAPS, and Canuck Place Children’s Hospice.
Krista was known for her genuine smile and bubbly personality, which lit up any room she was in. Even in her final days, she greeted anyone who entered the room with her winning smile and was quick to ask them all about their day.
When friends share what they love most about Krista, there is a common thread that becomes very apparent– the connections she was able to so easily make with anyone in the room – any age, ability or background. She always saw the best in others, loved to laugh, was more interested in caring about others than herself. This was evident until the very last day of her life when she arranged to have cookies made to thank the nurses for their care.
Although Krista and her smile may no longer be with us, she has inspired many to live their life with the same positive approach.
Her friends and family are grateful for the gift of time we had with Krista.
