Margaret was born in Chilliwack on June 11, 1951, to H. Glen and Jean Minter. She attended her school years there going onto the University of Victoria to study education. Marg had been inspired to become a teacher by her own Grade 2 teacher and spent 50 years with the Surrey School Board teaching with kindness and encouraging students to have confidence in themselves and their abilities.
Margaret Anne is survived by her husband, Bud, her two sons: Michael (Robin) and David as well as her grandsons Henry and Jonathan with whom she had a special bond. She will also be missed by her sister, Barbara Simoes (Bill).
Margaret excelled at whatever she did. She was a passionate gardener and talented craftsperson at needlepoint, lace making, knitting, sewing and tailoring. She could always be found with knitting needles in hand creating a baby shawl for a colleague’s newborn or a funky toque for her grandboys, as she called them. And she loved traveling with Bud, either cruising the world or soaking in the warmth of Hawaii.
Margaret Anne and her family would like to thank the Abbotsford Cancer Clinic for their care and concern over the past year. She also appreciated the kind care she received at Langley Memorial Hospital. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Langley Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
