Dear Ione,

Mike was one of my earliest childhood friends, and I have such fond memories of going over to his house to play after school. I remember Mike's vivid imagination, his sense of humor, and especially his kindness. Mike was my go-to guy when it came to baseball and hockey cards - he had the appraisal book to look up what a card was worth and always seemed so knowledgeable, and i remember calling him many times so that he could look up a card for me. And he was always very happy to do so. I also remember Mike as being very thoughtful and articulate even at a very young age- i recall him once telling our teacher that he couldn't complete a written assignment because he had "writer's block", which not surprisingly i had never heard of since we were still in early elementary school. 
Sadly, Mike and I lost touch after high school, but the memories of our childhood friendship remain strong.

I’m so sorry for your loss, it was a pleasure growing up with Michael  through elementary and high school. Sadly we lost touch after that but the memories of him still remain. Wish you well and lots of love through this troubling time.
