Myrna was born on a cold December day to Orval and Ellen Tisdale at Nipawin Saskatchewan. She was their first child and brought them great joy and a new meaning to their life. A story dad often told was as Myrna got older she would complain about the size of her nose, dad would always tell her it was because he kissed it so much.
Two and a half years later her baby brother Les was born followed by her sisters Linda, Marilyn, Margo, Debbie, Pam and last but not least, her baby brother Guy. She never let Guy forget that she had to change his diaper on her wedding day! Myrna and Les were always up to something, like the time they crowded in the outhouse with the neighbor kids to try smoking and Linda got bumped down the hole. Then the time they wanted to see if the cow was ridable and put Linda on its back.
Myrna married Joe Tatomir and had four beautiful babies by the time she was twenty; Carolyn, Rick, Jackie, and Meloney. One of the last facebook posts she made was: To My Kids….When I tell you I Love You I don’t say it out of habit or to make a conversation. I say it to remind you that you’re the Best thing that ever happened to me.
She was a very hard worker, she drove a pilot vehicle for some time and was one of the first flag women for highway construction. For years she worked for Canada Post and later the post mistress in Bluffton Alberta. She loved her farm life the most, and had a name for each of the calves she helped deliver. On the farm you would think she had a revolving door because the continual flow of neighbors stopping by for coffee.
Everyone loved her, and her siblings will all say that few people are privileged enough to have such a beloved sister, it is common knowledge that she had a tremendous giving heart and would have given the shirt off her back to anyone who needed it. We will remember her humour, laughter and quick wit. One of her comical remarks was that she wanted on her headstone: “Well That Sucked”.
Myrna leaves behind, to miss her dearly, her beloved children Carolyn, Jackie and Rick. Grandchildren Ksena, Amanda, Kyle,Tia, and Bryce, and one of her greatest joys, her Great Grandson Cody. She also leaves her brothers Les (Lori), Guy (Janice), and sisters Linda (Frank), Marilyn (Jim), Margo (Rick), Debbie (Al), and Pam (Dahlin) and 92 nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents Orval and Ellen, her beloved daughter Meloney, and son in laws Steve and Ron, and her nephew Keane.
Arrangements under the direction of Henderson's Langley Funeral Home, Langley, BC.
