Patricia Garnet Nowicki

NOWICKI, Patricia September 7, 1937 - March 13, 2011 Patricia Nowicki passed away peacefully on March 13, 2011 following a short but very courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by the most important people in her life; her husband Peter, daughters Alison and Tannis, and son Peter, who were by her side every step of the way. Pat's family was everything to her. She devoted her life to raising her three children and providing love and support to her husband. Her pride and joy were her four beautiful grandchildren, Pierce, Kirsten, Carly and Patrick, and great-granddaughter Ella. Left to grieve are her brother Jack (Joyce) and nephew Andrew, sons-in-law Jerry, Ross and Perry, granddaughter-in-law Kahla, and grandson-in-law Travis, as well as many extended family and friends in Winnipeg. Pat is predeceased by her parents Harold and Nellie Hilborn, stepfather Clarence Brooks, father and mother-in-law Michael and Mary Nowicki, and niece Tara Pope (Hilborn). The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital's Oncology department and Palliative Care department. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 25 at 1 pm at the Parish of St. George, 9160 Church St., Fort Langley. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Pat's name to the Canadian Cancer Agency.

Hawaiian Shore

You are free.

Your soul too beautiful to be confined,

To our Earth.

Now when I feel warm air upon my face,

I feel you.

When my fingertips brush the smooth silk of calm water,

I touch you.

When the blood orange sunset takes my breath away,

I see you.

And when waves are softly crashing against the Hawaiian shore,

I hear you.

You are everywhere around me.

A piece of my heart drifts away with your soul,

A permanent reminder that you are gone.

In this emptiness,

I succumb to the pain of losing you,

For your beautiful soul no longer breathes life into me.

Then in this darkness, I find you again;

My light.

Your everlasting memory is stronger,

Than any hardship I may contend.

And with you by my side for eternity,

I will face every day with strength,

And the determination to keep your spirit alive.
