Bob was born in the city of Stratford, Ontario and was the son of Doreen (née Fountain) Bloomfield and George Walter Bloomfield.
Bob worked hard all his life to support his family and had many different jobs. He worked at B.C. Furniture, when he was a teenager, moved onto A.J. Sinclair, as a Shipper and Receiver; from there he went to Western Fibers and managed and oversaw the industrial quilting machines and sergers. Next, he moved to Beachcomber Spa's, there he made and delivered hot tubs. He was especially good at setting up displays for the hot tubs at Home Shows and the PNE etc. After he left Beachcombers, he made deliveries for a short time and then he moved onto the Surrey School Board, where he eventually became a Head Custodian. After retirement, he worked a couple of years at London Drugs stocking shelves.
Bob was an amazing fisherman, he loved all aspects of fishing - saltwater out on the ocean in the boat with nature, lake fishing up in the Interior, and river fishing along the Fraser River. When out salmon fishing, he very seldom came home skunked, he just had a gift and a knack for it. For many years, he would trek over to Vancouver Island, to Tahsis with his son, Dennis Bloomfield, and or Russ Anderson, and or Richard Unau and or Kris Bjornsson...He loved his boat and would talk about it often, even to people who did not know anything about boats, (his soon to be daughter-in-law Tess) for one.
Bob also loved to golf, especially when he got to go with his sons. He also like to play pool at home with family and friends when they came to visit. He also had a very good sense of humor, he could keep a straight face and make you believe the most outlandish tales.
Bob was a very caring and loving man. Every year he worried that his grandchildren didn't have shoes for school or that they didn't have coats that would keep them warm; he would take them shopping to make sure they were well equipped for the weather.
He loved Christmas, and loved having big family parties, always making sure there was enough food, candies, chocolates and snacks for everyone. He would start Christmas shopping in September to make sure he budgeted his money and got presents for everyone. He looked forward to Christmas morning, opening stockings and presents together, then having our traditional breakfast of Back Bacon and French Toast...waiting in anticipation for everyone to show up for Christmas Dinner...He cherished this every year.
Remaining to cherish Bob (Robert) Bloomfield are his wife, Stephanie Bloomfield; his sons Dustin and partner Tess, Dennis and partner Shelly; grandchildren Sean Richard Bloomfield of Mount Vernon, Brendan, Kaitlyn, Chloe, and their mother Roxanne, grandchild Ace; his siblings, Carol Collett, Gail Wilms (Frank Wilms) Tricia Calberry, Tom Bloomfield (Louise Bloomfield), Gary Bloomfield (Linda Bloomfield), Jennifer Leiding (Conrad Leiding).
