He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Pamela Clifford, Daughter Elizabeth McKinnon, Son David (Kellie) Clifford and beloved Granddaughter Megan McKinnon.
Ron was a kind man with an honest and big heart. He took great pride in being a husband, father and grandfather and was a true family man.
Ron was born in Toronto Ontario on March 1, 1945 and passed away just a few weeks shy of his 75th birthday.
Ron was a proud member of the Metro Toronto Police Division 41. In the early 1980s he moved his family to a more peaceful setting in Bobcaygeon, Ontario. Ron was an active member of the small community, serving on different councils and boards, and was also a Lions Club member.
He enjoyed the quiet lifestyle of lakeside living and loved to take his boat out for a quiet day fishing.
In 1997, he and Pam followed their daughter and granddaughter on a move to British Columbia. First living in Merritt for a couple of years and then moving to the Langley BC area not long after. Ron worked in security management and private investigation. He found, and loved, his new hobbies of metal detecting, gold panning and lock picking. He was a man of fun and comical character and his family never knew what he might get up to next.
Ron loved spending time with his granddaughter Megan, and taking her dog Piper for walks. He was a wonderful mentor and father figure to Megan.
Ron is also greatly missed by his buddy Joey, a lovable 11 year old black and white feline that Megan and Elizabeth found on the side of the road and talked Grampa into keeping.
Ron kept Purdys chocolates in business, as he loved their sugar free chocolate trays. He could carve a turkey like no one else, find the weirdest, yet most thoughtful gifts and was the best driving teacher ever! He was a packrat, and every closet you open, you will find some sort of trinket, book or gadget he ‘had to have’ and rarely used.
Ron will be sadly missed by not only family, but also his many friends and co-workers. If you ask anyone about Ron Clifford, you would only ever hear positive things about what a wonderful, kind and caring man he was. He will be greatly missed.
Ron had many inside jokes with his family, so the final words here are for him and them:
“You made it to Candy Mountain Dad!”. We love you. xoxoxoox.
