On December 11, 2021, Shirley Crosson joined her heavenly family after passing peacefully. She has since joined her late husband, George Crosson, son, Dean Crosson, siblings Douglas and Maxine McNeely, and parents, Roy McNeely and Lettice Perry in heaven, all of whom she loved dearly until her final days.
She met her late husband, George, in Taber, Alberta while he was stationed as a RCMP officer. In those days, members must be in the RCMP for a few years before marriage. So, they married once in Manitoba, Canada, on Dec 20, 1955, and again in Idaho, USA, on January 17, 1956, in hopes that this would keep him in the force. They later moved to Calgary, where George joined the Calgary Police before being able to rejoin the RCMP. Shirley was famous for wanting to move homes a lot, in a time before the delete button when friends and family would pencil in a new address. Shirley spent her life working as a receptionist in banking until retiring at age 70.
Shirley was a devout Christian, an avid lover of both dogs and horses, a brilliant artist, and a loving friend to many. She was born in Lethbridge, Alberta, and enjoyed much of her later life in Langley, British Columbia, where she now rests. Shirley requested that exceptional thanks be given to her Family who cared for her in her final years, notably her children, Bruce, Lily and Colleen, Granddaughters and Grandchildren of the Castillo side.
Our dearest Shirley is survived by her children, Bruce Crosson (Lily Castillo), and Colleen Farquhar, as well as her grandchildren Jessica and Elke Crosson (Tim MacLeod and Rammes Hamden, respectively), Kyla Farquhar (Mike Iachetta), April Hamm (Steven Singh), and Johnsen, Riza, and Rhea Castillo. Shirley is also survived by her Sisters in Law, Marlene Long of Montana and Marlis of Washington, USA.
