

Susan Kathleen Scott (nee Mold) passed away peacefully on October 25th, 2025 at White Rock Seniors Village where she had resided for the past four months. Susan was born in Dorval, Quebec on February 28th 1942, the daughter of Mabel (nee Monk) and Joseph Mold. She was a life long volunteer and supportive community member. In Dorval, she will be remembered for spearheading the fund-raising campaign for the Dorval Community Centre. In Burlington, Ontario, she was a leader for several years in Girl Guide and Brownies troops.
Sue moved to Surrey in 1975, where she worked in the advertising department of the Surrey-Delta Messenger for several years and later moved on to become Manager of Surrey Place Mall where she worked until her retirement.
She continued her volunteerism in White/Rock Surrey, organizing the annual Sea Festival for six years, the BC Senior Games in Surrey, as well as serving on numerous organizations. Susan especially enjoyed her 30 years with White Rock Recreation Department, teaching the Seniors Keep Fit exercise classes. Outside of the classes, she would often entertain her class members. Many of them became dear friends.
For her volunteerism and devotion to her community, Susan received numerous awards, including the White Rock Woman of the Year in 2001, the Mayor’s award in 2008, Paul Harris Fellow from the Semiahmoo Rotary Club in 2018 and the Governor General of Canada’s Golden Jubilee Medal in 2008.
Sue’s home was always a welcoming place as she drew people into her family and circle of friends. She loved to entertain her friends with lavish dinners and outdoor barbeques. Sue loved to dance Her and her family and friends often called her the Dancing Queen, after one of her favourite songs by Abba. Days before she passed, she was on her feet with a wide grin to dance to the music of Dancing Queen.
Remaining to cherish Sue’s memory are her daughter Karen Rolland (Scotty), son William Scott, grandchildren Meagan Robertson, Kate McCabe, Mytch Scott, Brooke Baumann, Adam Robertson, Taylor Baumann and Liam Scott.
She was pre-deceased by her husband William Scott and daughters, Janice Scott and Valerie Baumann.
Susan’s family would like to thank the staff of White Rock Seniors Village for the care and comfort offered her and the family during her last four months of life.
