Yvonne Holmgren

Predeceased by her beloved Husband Ivan in July 2021, Yvonne is now at peace in the arms of her Saviour Jesus Christ, once again reunited with Ivan.

Yvonne was the mother of Esther (Ian), Marvin (Lori), and Vernon (Moira, ex-spouse Dauphne). Grandma to Ryan, Matthew, Michael, Ingrid, Karina, Carly, Sjor, and great grandmother to Erika, Curtis, Freja, Marvin, Henrik, Marley and Kasper.

Together with Ivan, Yvonne enjoyed socializing and gathering with family/extended family and friends, church activities, family vacations, square dancing, hiking, camping, skiing, music, volunteering and travel - RVing/Alaska cruises.

She attended business school after graduation and worked as a secretary for a short time. While working hard as a homemaker, Yvonne then worked part time in the service industry. At 40 years of age Yvonne fulfilled a lifelong dream by attending nursing school and becoming an RN. Yvonne worked part time as a nurse at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton, before retiring early with Ivan to start a new chapter in life on the West Coast.

Yvonne led a fulfilling and active life, and together with Ivan passed on a love and respect for all living things and nature. Yvonne was a dedicated, loving wife and mother whose Christian faith inspired and guided her life.

She will be remembered and missed by all who knew her.

A Memorial Service and Interment of ashes in a memorial garden will take place at Mt Olive Lutheran Church, 2350 - 148 Street, South Surrey, BC, on Sunday, May 5th. at 3:00 pm. Following the service a reception will be held in the church hall.
