Almeda G. Cronkright

Almeda G. Cronkright, born August 2, 1920, passed away September 28, 2013 at age 93. Born in St. Johns, Michigan, Almeda, while residing in Ionia volunteered her time at the Ionia County Hospital as a Gray Lady, and at The American Red Cross blood drives. She also owned Almeda’s Beauty Salon. Almeda was very involved with the Latchkey Program in Warren where she resided for over 30years. She was an avid crafter, golfer and loved bowling. A very loving grandmother, she will be missed by her family, and the many friends she had at the Garden Club in Warren. Preceding her in death are her parents, Agatha and Stanley Fairbanks; husband, Wilbur; son, Orville Rivers; grandson, John Freund; son-in-law, Roy Freund; and sister, Grace Blakney. Surviving is daughter, Sherry Freund; grandchildren, Angela (Jeff) Steiss, Jeff (Prescy) Freund, great-grandchildren Sami, Macy, Hunter and John, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 11:00am at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, Michigan, with graveside service at 3pm at Balcom Cemetery, Ionia, MI. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the funeral home.
