

of Charlotte, MichiganWell-known Budweiser distributor, Andy MacMillan died January 31, 2008 following a long battle with cancer. Born March 25, 1928 in Detroit to Duncan Ambrose and Katherine (Schneider) MacMillan, Andy attended St. Gregory High School, graduating in 1946. While there, he devolved his skills as a baseball pitcher resulting in the opportunity to try-out for the Detroit Tiger and the Cincinnati Reds. Andy instead went into the U.S.Army and served an 18 month stretch at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.
After leaving the service Andy joined his aunt and uncle in developing M&M Distributors for Budweiser products. In 1961, he purchased the company, incorporating and building a large warehouse in 1988 on Creyts Road. Andy enjoyed a variety of entertainments and activities-pool, bowling, gambling at the casino, enjoying quality time at his Lake Leelanau cottage, operating his business and spending time with friends, especially at Falsetta?s and the Airport Bar. He was fortunate to have been able to visit his ancestral homeland of Scotland. Andy also enjoyed helping other, which he did regularly. He is survived by his wife, Pat ?P.T.? (Rich-Cleary); son Peter A. MacMillan; grandchildren, Anthony (Crissie) Parker, Theresa Parker, Katheline MacMillan, and Guy MacMillan, as well as by three great-grandchildren, Christian and Isabella Parker and Alissa Keck and his former wife June MacMillan. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his daughter, Suzanna M. Parker. Visitation will be from 11:30 to 1:00 P.M. Monday with Services 1:00 P.M. Monday, February 4, 2008 in the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing, with Fr. John P. Klein of St. Gerard Church presiding.
